Celebrate National Reading Month this March
In honor of Dr. Seuss' birthday, March is designated as National Reading Month - a month to motivate Americans of all ages to read every day!
Raising Readers: What Parents Can Do
Read together every day- read the morning news at breakfast, share a story after supper, or cuddle up for a book at bedtime.
Talk and build vocabulary- interesting conversations build vocabulary, language skills, and knowledge about the world.
Model reading- kids want to do what grownups do. Make sure your kids get to see you reading and hear you talk about it.
Point our print- read and talk about the words you see in the world around you- signs, recipes, cereal boxes, instruction manuals, bus schedules, news, maps, and menus.
Create a reading-rich home- Find books at the bookstore or yard sales. Provide a special shelf or basket for kids to keep their own books and one for library books.
Encourage your child’s reading- Praise the efforts of a soon-to-be or beginning reader.
Keep books handy- Stash books in your bag to read aloud when you travel or have to wait at restaurants or for appointments. Or keep eBooks on your phone.
Start reading traditions- Beyond bedtime stories, consider a special birthday book, holiday favorites, or a regular family read aloud night.
“The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you'll go.” - Dr. Seuss
Spring Tea Party
We are delighted to extend a warm invitation to you and your children for our upcoming Spring Tea Party on March 29th. The festivities will commence at 11:00 AM with an exhilarating egg hunt, followed by a delightful potluck tea party. We encourage the children to dress in their "Sunday Best" attire, whether it be dresses, bonnets, gloves, ties, bow ties, or any other charming ensemble they adore. If you plan to take your child home after the tea party, please inform their teacher or a staff member beforehand for a seamless transition. We eagerly anticipate celebrating the joys of spring with you and your little ones!
Gate Duty: Arrival and Dismissal
When dropping off or picking up your child, please make sure to keep the line moving. We ask that you pull your car up before getting out of the car to drop off or retrieve your child from the staff. If you plan to walk up to the door and talk to a teacher or parent, we ask that you please park in the parking lot or street.
