Children may enter our program at 18 months of age. All students move at their own pace, within a developmentally appropriate environment. Social skills, fine and gross motor skills and language development are fostered through an environment rich in phonics and whole language instruction, math and science. Each classroom follows a progressive curriculum preparing them for pre-kindergarten and kindergarten. Children enter the preschool program at age 2 to 4 years of age. At age 5, and with the invitation of the teacher, children may enter the kindergarten program.
Children entering the kindergarten program must be 5 years of age by September 30th of the year enrolling. Students who wish to enter our kindergarten program, and have not attended our pre-kindergarten program, must come in for an interview before acceptance into the program. Students learn through a systematic sequence of lessons. Phonemic and whole language instruction, reading, manual & d’nealian handwriting, oral language activities, grammar, science, mathematics, and social studies are the base of our kindergarten program. Students are evaluated every quarter during the year.
