Oh My Golly, December Is Already Here!

Dear Rollingwood Academy Families,

The Holiday Season is upon us and we can feel the anticipation and excitement in the air! December is a very exciting and busy month, and we want to wish you all a happy and memorable holiday season this winter.

We also want to thank all our families for your participation in our November events, Thanksgiving feast, and our One Warm Coat Drive. As always, we greatly appreciate all your help.

            Important Dates

  • December 20th Holiday Party- Family and friends, please join us for songs and pizza at our annual Holiday Party @ 12:00pm. We will provide pizza on this day. Your child’s teacher will be posting a sign-up sheet for volunteers to bring in drinks, fruit/veggies, and a dessert. We hope to see you all there!

  • December 20th Guest Reader- If you are interested in volunteering in your child’s classroom to be a Guest Reader before the Holiday Party, then please reach out to your child’s teacher to set up a time.

  • December 23rd- January 3rd School Closed for Winter Holiday

  • January 6th School Reopens

Every year the Noblemen provide Christmas presents to local children who would otherwise be receiving very few, if any presents at all for Christmas. This year the Noblemen Toy Drive will reach over 3,000 children in Hampton Roads! Rollingwood Academy has a Noblemen Toy Drive box placed in our front entranceway. Please stop in and drop off a new, unwrapped toy for a local child! We appreciate all your help in supporting so many children.

Believe it or not, the time to start thinking about the 2020-2021 school year is approaching! Keep an eye out for the re-enrollment form in your child’s folder when we return from Holiday Break. Those of you who plan on returning to our school next year should plan to register as soon as possible to ensure preferred placement.

Although the weather is getting colder and going outside unprepared can be unwise, viruses that are spread by other human beings and cause colds and the flu are indoors. That being said, we will aim to get our students outdoors at least once a day to get some fresh air and strengthen the immune system. Please make sure your child comes to school with layers, gloves and a hat!
